When the island moved, things did not go according to plan. Yes, Ben was sent off the island, and the Oceanic 6 still became famous, but things for the Left-Behinds couldn't have been worse.
The blinding-white light receeded, and as it did, Juliet Burke, Sawyer Ford, and the rest of everyone who had been left discovered their entire camp gone. Tents, firepit, food, everything. Nothing remained, except the clothes on their backs and the backpacks they had been carrying during the flash of light, which held little stuff. Planning on rebuilding the camp, that night they slept on the beach under the stars.
However, as they slept on, unbeknowest to them, Richard Alpert ordered an attack. Of course, not from the people that Locke was now in control over, but of his own people. The group on the other side of the island who stay to the shadows, and do not age, just like him.
Flaming arrows rained down upon the Left-Behinder's camp, awakening them. Some died, and yet, some managed ot make it to the safety of the water, but they were met by more of Alpert's group, who quickly captured them and took then back to their own camp.
Of course, things had gone terribly wrong. The Island had moved back to 1976. Not to mention the fact that this group of people were called Hostiles, and just beyond the sonic fence, the Dharma Initiative now resides.
Alpert has a plan - infiltrate the Dharma Initiative and steal their information and data before Purging them. The information could very well help the Island set itself right again - no more eletro-magnetism, no more oddities, and nothing out of the oridnary other than a regular island - the way Jacob wants it. So he's forcing the Left-Behinds to infiltrate the Initiative and get the information for him.
To add to the factor, those who have died apparently don't stay dead for long. Ana-Lucia, Libby, Shannon, Charlie, Alex, and all those who have died on the Island are back. They don't remember anything, but are now either working for the Hostiles or the Dharma Initiative.
But, even as they try to come up with a plan, the Oceanic 6 are having problems of their own. Charles Widmore is attempting to gather them all and take them to the Island with him - including Ben. But Ben is trying to save the Oceanic 6 himself, and simply find a way to get back to the Island and set things right, which is rather hard to do when you've got henchmen coming at you and danger around every corner.
So, will things ever be right again? Can the Left-Behinders get back to their own time and still managed to get rid of the Dharma Initiative that threaten them? And will the Oceanic 6, Desmond, and Ben ever get back to the island in time?
