Jette is a small town where the weather is chilly most of the year. The school is small and everyone has known each other since pre-K. No one is exceptionally wealthy, and no one unusually poor. Jette is a clean town with one motel, one strip mall, and a handful of restaurants. The people are simple and the kids don't have high expectations of getting out of town. Except the kids of May's Grocery.

We have six kids working at May's - Cassandra, Angela, Tristan, Caroline, Nathan, and Aaron. They have been best friends since Pre-K, except Nathan, who moved to Jette his freshman year. Cassie dreams of becoming a famous dancer, and her head is almost always in the clouds. Tristan just can't decide what he wants, but it's definitely bigger than Jette can handle. Caroline is oh so approachable with her "I hate the world and everything in it, especially this one horse town" attitude. Aaron is from the heart of LA and can't figure out how he got to Jette - what were his parents thinking? Angela is a bubbly girl who can't stand still and is destined to be a world class gymnast. Last, but not least, is Nathan (aka the most eligible bachelor in Jette).

These six have been working at May's since they were 13, but dreaming of something bigger ever since. They are on a mission to show the kids of Jette that, contrary to popular belief, there is life outside the town.
