So my name is Katie, but you can call me; Kate. I have been doing this roleplay thing for 3/4 years, which is nothing compared to my fifteen years on this crazy planet. I make none lead such angsty lives. It's a wonder they don't hate me. OH! One more thing, I came across your site while advertising. I just wanted to let you know that.

Personality [overall];;
Mina is definitely an unusual girl, with her sarcastic wit and unusual intelligence, and her resistance towards being around people. She would rather be discussing a book or indie film with a group than at a school dance or party, and she has absolutely no interest in romance, or popularity. She's fiery, opinionated and creative, devoted to her art and music more than almost anything. She loves mythology and the stars, as well as studying different fighting types; she loves knowledge and aspires to be as well-rounded as possible, though it takes a lot for her to actually divulge her information because of her indifference towards others. She's completely wild; willing to try almost anything once, or twice if it scares her the first time, which it seldom does. Being told what to do is one of the things she hates most, and she's almost guaranteed to rebel if someone tries.

History;;
Mina was born in the city of Sparta, Greece, the first child of a rather wealthy, powerful Greek family. She got along with her parents most of the time; they gave her space and more or less let her do what she wanted within reason, and she stayed out of their way more often than not. They weren't the closest of families, but Mina was content with the relationship and her life by the coast, taking full advantage of her parents' looseness with her wild personality.
The birth of the twins, Marcello and Cassandra, meant that Mina was forced to take on significantly more responsibility; in addition to the nannies she had lived with her whole life, Mina's parents enlisted her to look after them. Having to take on the role of the guardian built up a considerable amount of contempt for her younger siblings, though it wasn't without a fair amount of affection.
They had a considerably normal life together, despite all of the trouble Mina still managed to get herself into. She and her siblings were perfectly content to stay in their large home in Sparta, but unfortunately, their parents had other plans for the family. She had just turned sixteen when they moved to the Gold Coast, and Mina was completely devastated. She argued with her parents endlessly about it, and began doing whatever she could just to spite them in revenge for dragging her away from Greece.
It was one day, after one particularly bad fight, that she discovered Mako island, having taken the boat out to escape her parents for a day and cool off. She had been completely, totally fascinated by the place, to the point that she spent the entire day exploring the island regardless of what she had heard about the danger of the sharks. It was night time, the full moon high in the sky, when she finally discovered the moon pool, and just like that she found herself sprouting a tale every time she came in contact with water.

Why do I have to be here in the first place?
This was the main thought in Mina's head as she sat grudgingly in the middle of a bench at seaworld, watching as the twins marveled at their aquatic surroundings. She would much rather have been out in the real ocean, practicing her swimming, or even alone at Mako island. But her parents just had to stick her with her two younger siblings for the evening, handing her money and telling her to 'get them out of the house for the day; they're acting too wild.'
Whatever.
She hated this place; the crowds, the lines, the overpriced souvenirs, the looks she got whenever someone caught sight of her unusual appearance. Whatever happened to the time when people minded their own business, instead of prying into others'? She had already had to give out more scowls than she cared to; some even at little children.
She wished she could be back in Greece, by the beach at her old house; where she didn't have to worry about growing a tale if a drop of water landed the wrong way. She wished she could be at home, flipping through the pages of one of her books; maybe mythology again, or philosophy, she wasn't picky. She just needed to be anywhere but where she was, and she wanted to get there quickly.
